Minimum Wage Increase

I know the popular thing is to be in support of this but I can't. Increasing the minimum wage is a BAD IDEA.
First this to consider is how the smaller businesses will have to deal with it. You know what will happen: They won't be able to afford this increas and will have to let people go.
Increasing umemployment.

Those businesses who try to absorb this increase will naturally pass the 'savings' on to US, the people.
Increasing prices.

Businesses who are less than honest or very desperate will find work that is cheaper and can be payed under the table so to speak.
Increasing illegal aliens in our country.

Here in Oregon they increas the minimum wage every January 1. So every year those of us who bust our asses at our jobs and actually work hard for raises are placed on the same level as lazy assholes and illegals who can't even take a simple order at McDonalds are given raises they simply don't deserve. I notice prices of certain things also increase around this time every year.

And don't give me that "people can't live off minimum wage" crap. IT'S A MINIMUM WAGE NOT A LIVING WAGE YOU MORONS!!! It's what you START at and if you are worth your salt you are given raises than allow you to earn more money. If you don't like your job then you need to do something for yourself and get a better job by way of education or actually trying to be good at something.

I earned a minimum wage WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. I earn over $9/hour now. I BUSTED MY ASS at my job and I'm still not at the top - yet. I'm not one of those idiots who whines and moans about how bad things are. I know this is American and I KNOW I can succeed.
If you can't, that's your problem.
