June 20, 2007 was a sad day for American Businesses who deal in a completely legal industry: The Fur Industry. As you all know, the Schumacher's had been terrorized by a bunch of anti-business dipshits who CLAIMED to care about animals, even though I've seen no real evidence of this, and were forced to shut down their business after 112 years in the Portland, Oregon area. The Schumacher's than, rightly so, put forth lawsuits against the assholes who lied and misrepresented them to the community and even the city itself for it's COMPLETE stupidity in this situation. They even sued the group PETA, People Executing and Terminating Animals - wait...people for the 'ethical treatment' of animals...whatever...
Apparently, and I'm still getting details here, the suit against PETA was dropped. It's really to bad since PETA is the cause of all this so-called 'animal rights' stupidity and needs to be put in their place.
The following was posted on a site called "the PETA Files":
Yesterday, the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon dismissed a bunch of claims against PETA in a lawsuit brought by some fur-pushers called Gregg and Linda Schumacher on behalf of their business in Portland.
In a fantastic victory for animals, Schumacher Furs suffered quite a blow last year when the downtown Portland store decided to close after years of protests by concerned Portland residents. But, much as I'd love to take credit for the great protests, PETA really didn't have an awful lot to do with them—a fact which had our lawyers more baffled than concerned when ol' Gregg and Linda filed suit against us for more than $2 million in damages. Fortunately for everyone (and as Mr. and Mrs. Schumacher learned the hard way this week), being really sad and grumpy because your unethical business got shut down isn't enough by itself to convince a court of law that someone owes you over $2 million. The claims against PETA were thrown out as being frivolous earlier this week, and Schumacher Furs will, more than likely, be paying PETA's legal fees. As PETA Counsel Bonnie Robson puts it:
“The court's decision is a victory for the First Amendment—and for animals, who must rely on human voices to protest their torture and slaughter for fur. The court did not give in to the fur industry's desire to keep the public in the dark about how animals are turned into fur coats and collars."
Well guys, now that you've failed at making your living through hurting animals and suing charities, what's next on the agenda? I'm not sure I even really want to know.
Ok, so some dumbass from PETA wrote this, I think it was someone from PETA much like the cowards who terrorized the Schumacher's here they are to afraid to post their name and their affiliation but they pretty much admit they are from PETA...unlike here where I stand proudly behind my words and insight on these assholes and welcome any lame argument they try to put against me.
Now, let's examine this because anything from PETA is filled with humor:
In a fantastic victory for animals, Schumacher Furs suffered quite a blow last year when the downtown Portland store decided to close after years of protests by concerned Portland residents. Well, this much be a vegan writing this because there are mistakes here. See, vegans don't get certain proteins from eating weeds and grass they we normal people get from eating meat...which, as I said, is NORMAL. The Schumacher's didn't close down LAST YEAR. They closed at the end of May THIS YEAR. about a month ago as I write this. Also, 'years' of protests? No, those ass-hats terrorized the business, employees and customers for about 18 months and they were NOT 'concerned Portland residents' granted there are a lot of morons here but the group in this case were a small, loud and obnoxious group lead my idiots like Matt Rossell and Kevin Mieras. They were hardly representative of the residents of Portland, they just likes to gang up and intimidate people who dared to disagree with them...hell, the dumbass Matt went so far as to call me a racist!
This brain surgeon called the Schumacher's Fur business 'unethical' like they know what it means. It was a legal business than thrived in this city for 4 generations. There is nothing 'unethical' about buying and selling fur. It's no different than buying and selling meat, leather, pets or anything else PETA seems to hate...what IS unethical is claiming to want to care for animals from a shelter in North Carolina then murdering them in the back of a van and dumping the bodies of those poor dogs, cats, puppies and kittens on a garbage bin behind a shopping center. The Shumacher's had NOTHING to do with the animals before the fur arrived in their store and to accuse them of animal abuse is an outright LIE. I know for a FACT that Gregg and Linda love animals and have many of their own.
“The court's decision is a victory for the First Amendment—and for animals, who must rely on human voices to protest their torture and slaughter for fur. The court did not give in to the fur industry's desire to keep the public in the dark about how animals are turned into fur coats and collars." Ok, this must be said: ANIMALS DO NOT HAVE FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS NOR SHOULD THEY, and truth me known, animals do NOT have rights period. Rights are something you must first think about and form then fight for through debate and in some cases fighting. Animals cannot do this. They have basic respect and should not be abused, yes, but some animals are used for their fur, meat and milk and that is FINE. Those animals are commodities and there isn't a damned thing wrong with that. Animals don't give a shit if they are being raised for their fur or not. They cannot think like humans can and are basically stupid.
And don't give me the 'dolphin' argument: They are smarter than humans, they communicate in ways humans cannot understand...well, dumbass, humans communicate in ways dolphins cannot understand and if they are so damned smart why do they still get caught in tuna nets? If you can give me ONE thing invented my a dolphin then I'll concede...
...well...?
Ok, then, stop using that argument.
Over the years the fur industry have been very open about what they do. What the problem here is these PETA and IDA morons have issues with the fur farms in CHINA. Here in America there are laws the are followed, China, apparently, doesn't have those laws. So, you fools really should go to China and bitch to them...and let me have a copy of the video showing them beating the living hell out of you!
There is nothing, I repeat NOTHING, wrong with buying and wearing fur. The simple reality here is Gregg and Linda got screwed by a bunch of ignorant anti-business hippy-freaks and a city that cares more about the rights and feelings of illegal aliens than American business people.
Below is a post I sent to the site I got this joke of a report from, I doubt they will post it because, unlike me, they aren't' willing to let people disagree with them. So, I post it here and give you the link to the site so you can tell them off as well:
It's funny how a business that has sold furs for more than 112 years is branded as 'animal abusers' by a group of people, PETA, who killed more than 80% of the animals it took in between 1998 and 2005. I guess only PETA knows how to 'ethically' murder animals, huh?
And YES I gave them a link to this very blog...cause I'm such a nice guy!
